Karen Kegg
Senior Associate
Karen Kegg has more than 17 years of fundraising and development experience in special events, campaigns, and major gifts.
She served as Director of Development at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, where she was primarily responsible for the fundraising efforts for the School of Management and Business, as well as the University’s library. Prior to St. Edward’s, she worked at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation–Gulf Coast Chapter and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. While at M. D. Anderson, Karen and her team managed an international fundraising campaign for The George and Barbara Bush Endowment for Innovative Cancer Research, exceeding the endowment’s $50 million goal.
Being from the Texas Hill Country, Karen feels right at home in Austin and is proud to be a part of the community. She has been active with the Association of Fundraising Professionals since 1997, serving as President of the AFP Greater Austin Chapter in 2005. She currently serves on the Endowment Board for St. Martin’s Lutheran Church and is a member of the Board of Regents at Texas Lutheran University, her Alma Mater. She and her husband, Tony, have been married over 20 years and have one son in high school and a large Goldendoodle. They enjoy traveling, volunteering, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time at her family’s ranch in Boerne.
